Is this the same as Google Drive?

No. Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive are sync and sharing tools — if a file is deleted or encrypted on your computer, that change syncs everywhere. This is backup: a separate, versioned copy of your computer and drives that keeps historical versions you can roll back to.

Does it automatically back up my files?

Accepted Answer

Yes. After installation the desktop app runs in the background, watches for new and changed files, and uploads them continuously. There is nothing to drag and no schedule to remember.

Can I back up an external hard drive?

Yes. External HDDs and SSDs can be selected alongside your internal drives. Connect the drive periodically so changes can be uploaded and the backup stays current.

What happens if my computer is offline?

Nothing is lost. The client queues changes locally and resumes uploading automatically when the connection returns, including after interrupted transfers.

Can I restore deleted files?

Yes. Deleted files remain restorable from your backup for the version history window included in your plan.

Does it protect against ransomware?

Accepted Answer

Version history is the defence. If files are encrypted by ransomware, you restore the versions from before the attack rather than paying anyone.

Can you see my files?

Files are encrypted on your device before upload. In Private Key Mode only you hold the encryption key, and we cannot read or recover your data. In Standard protection we manage key custody so account recovery is possible.

Where is my data stored?

India data residency is offered on eligible plans, with the storage region shown in your account before your first backup runs.

Can I back up multiple computers?

Personal plans cover one computer each. Business plans are priced per device and managed from a single admin console.

Can I back up my NAS?

Yes. Synology, QNAP, TrueNAS, Unraid, Windows Server, Linux and SMB shares are supported or in active development — see the NAS page for current status.

How long are old file versions kept?

30 days on Basic, and 365 days on Personal and above. Longer retention will be offered for business plans.

What happens if I stop paying?

Your backup is retained for a grace period so you can restore or re-subscribe, after which it is deleted. You will be told the exact dates in advance — nothing disappears silently.

Can I download my entire backup?

Yes, through the desktop app or as ZIP downloads from the web restore interface.

Can you ship my backup on a hard drive?

On eligible plans, yes. For large restores we can copy your backup to an encrypted drive and courier it to your address. Drive and courier charges may apply.
